Christmas in Colombia

Every December, Chasing Hope International brings the joy and hope of Christmas to vulnerable children and families through our Christmas in Colombia sponsorship program. Having served over 150 kids from communities in Tolú, Sincelejito, and Berrugas, the program provides children from newborn to age 15 with essentials and gifts that bring dignity and delight. Thanks to generous donors in the United States, each child receives a new pair of shoes to start the school year with confidence, along with 2–3 brand-new toys. Their families are blessed with a generous food basket packed with staples to help ease the burden of the season. More than just gifts, this program reminds children that they are seen, valued, and loved. It allows families to simply enjoy Christmas—free from the worry of how they’ll provide for their children during this special time.

Christmas in Colombia 2021

Our very first year of Christmas in Colombia, we started in Santiago de Tolú with 28 kids. Through the years, we grew to having 150 kids in the program.

New Shoes & Toys

In Colombia, the school year begins in February, making a new pair of tennis shoes from the Christmas in Colombia program a timely and meaningful gift that brings real relief to families.

Shopping for Gifts

Before shopping, we ask each child about their favorite colors, activities, and interests to help us choose Christmas gifts that feel personal, meaningful, and uniquely special to them.

Delivery Day

Gift delivery day is always filled with joy and smiles! We typically kick things off with fun games and activities for the kids before moving into the excitement of handing out gifts and food baskets. We capture it all in photos so sponsors in the U.S. can share in the experience and see the impact they’re making firsthand.
